Toaster Oat Bread

ToasterOatBread1
Today I tried one of Kelli's bread recipes. This is a quick bread, full of fiber and it tastes delicious. I followed Kelli's recipe almost to the letter. The only difference is the buttermilk I used, because I had it, instead of milk and lemon juice.

This bread is dense and very flavourful. I calculated 16 slices and it does give me 104 cals., 5gr. of protein, 1 gr, of fat, and 3 gr. fibre per slice. Kelli says that its flavour is enhanced by toasting. I've already ate almost half of it and I did not toast it. It is delicious with butter and jam. Now I have to try the toasting.

For some reason, oatmeal breads of all kind respond very well to toasting. And peanut butter, if you like that sort of thing...

I bet it would make an interesting grilled cheese sandwich, too!

Nic: I love her bread posts. Yesterday I tried another one that came out just great. Will post about it sometime.

Dawna: Mmmm! Now why didn't I think of that? I love peanut butter and honey! Great idea. Thanks!

Joe: I like the high fibre content too. Even after 4 days, the bread has not gotten harder than when I just took it out of the oven. Amazing for a quick bread!

Catesa: Please try this one. You cannot go wrong with it. Besides, being a quick bread you do not have to deal with the leavenings.

Portuguesa: This bread is a no-brainer. If you like dense breads (and I do) I would recommend you give this one a try.
